SHAREit - Connect and Transfer is an app that facilitates file transfers at speeds greater than what Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Internet connections normally allow. In fact, the developer promises speeds 200 times faster than Bluetooth. This version is for Android smartphones and tablets, but SHAREit is multiplatform software. That means that you can share files between Android devices, Windows computers, iPhones and iPads and more.

You can transfer one or multiple files from one device to another. You can also establish a group and send a file to everyone in the group with just one click. This feature is great for friends and coworkers. Practically any type of file is supported, including images, videos, music and contact lists. Connecting to other user is as simple as accessing a portal, which is a local webpage.

Files are primarily transferred via a direct wireless connection. You don’t need a USB connection or the Internet even, and the process will never use your data. Quality of files is always preserved. In other words, the file on the receiving end is an exact duplicate of the original file.

SHAREit works quite well, and there aren’t any negatives to mention. An important point to be aware of is that you do require the app on the sending device as well as all receiving devices. It’s not a problem when you’ve planned to use it but can be a little inconvenient otherwise.
